What It Does
Record a voice memo and Quvio transcribes it, titles it, and makes it findable. Everything happens on your phone: the recording, the transcript, and the search that lets you find a memo later by what you actually said rather than by its filename.
Why We Built It
Most voice-memo apps that transcribe do it by uploading your audio to a server. That is the easy way to build it, and it means every private thing you record passes through someone else's machine. Quvio does the transcription on the device instead, so the recording never has to leave your phone to become text.
How It Works
Transcription runs with a local speech-to-text model, and search runs with a local embeddings model, both executing on the device. The two models are downloaded once, the first time you need each, to keep the install small. After that the app works with no connection: no audio, and no transcript, is ever sent anywhere.
Privacy
No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no crash reporting and no server of ours. Your recordings, transcripts, tags and to-dos stay in the app's private storage and are deleted when you uninstall.
The one thing Quvio uses the network for is the one-time model download, and the privacy policy describes exactly what that download does and does not send. Optional cloud features are off in this release.
