slashit Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy covers the slashit mobile application for Android, published by SALIM TECHONOLOGIES, trading as SALIM Technologies ("we", "us"). It is separate from the policy for our website.

The short version

slashit collects nothing. It has no account, no server, and no analytics, and its released builds do not request the Internet permission, so the app cannot send data anywhere.

Information we collect

None. We do not collect, receive, store off your device, sell, or share any personal information. We have no servers that receive data from the app, and no way to identify you.

Your shortcuts and expansions

The shortcuts and messages you create are stored only in slashit's private storage on your own device, where other apps cannot read them. They are never uploaded, because the app has nowhere to upload them to. Uninstalling slashit deletes them.

What the keyboard sees

slashit is an input method (a keyboard). Like every keyboard on every platform, it necessarily processes the text you type while it is the keyboard you have selected. Android requires you to enable and select a keyboard explicitly, and shows a warning when you do.

slashit uses that text only while it is in memory, and only to detect the trigger character and match what you have typed against your own saved shortcuts. slashit does not record, log, save, profile, or transmit what you type, and does not use it for advertising, training, or any other purpose. Nothing typed in other apps is written to storage.

slashit does not use Android's Accessibility APIs. It has no ability to read the contents of other apps' screens.

Permissions

slashit registers with Android only as an input method, and its shipped builds request exactly one permission:

  • Vibration (VIBRATE), so the keyboard can give haptic feedback when you type. This is a normal Android permission, granted automatically, and it gives no access to any of your data.

Released builds do not request the Internet permission, the Accessibility Service, the ability to display over other apps, or access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos, files, or any other sensitive permission.

Third parties

slashit contains no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no third-party SDKs that receive your data. No data is shared with anyone, because none is collected.

If you install slashit from Google Play, Google processes the download and any device or account information involved in distribution under its own policies. That is between you and Google; we receive only the aggregate, anonymous statistics Google shows to any developer, such as install counts.

Children

slashit is suitable for all ages. It collects no data from anyone, including children, and contains no ads, no purchases, and no external content.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, export, correct, or delete. Your snippets are under your control on your device, and you can edit or delete them in the app at any time, or remove all of them by uninstalling it.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of slashit adds any feature that uses the network, for example optional cloud backup or shared snippets, we will update this policy and the Google Play Data safety disclosure before that version ships, and any such feature will be clearly optional and off by default.
