What It Does

Twonest tracks a pregnancy — but not for one person. Both partners join the same journey inside one app: the same week, the same milestones, each seeing the view that matters for their role.

Why We Built It

Pregnancy apps are overwhelmingly built for one user: the mother. But a pregnancy is lived by two people. Partners who want to be involved get a second-class experience — forwarded screenshots, second-hand updates, apps clearly not designed for them.

We watched friends live this. The mother tracked everything; the father found out what was happening when she remembered to mention it. Not because he didn't care — because the software gave him no place to participate.

Hence the name: two nests. One pregnancy, one shared home, two people in it.

The Build

React Native, one shared data model with role-aware views. The design rule: every feature must make sense for both roles, or it doesn't ship. The kick counter is the mother's tool — but the partner sees the count and the trend. The appointment calendar belongs to both.

Technical Notes

• Cross-platform from day one — couples don't choose matching phones
• Offline-first: the app must work in a hospital basement
• Gentle notifications: supportive, never anxious — this app talks to people in a sensitive season of life, and every push notification is written accordingly
